What is japan to me?
Japan is a country made up of more than 6,800 islands. There is an entire island of snakes! it has 110 active volcanoes and a city call Fox Village where foxes just run around. It is known for their traditional arts, like tea ceremonies, calligraphy, sculptures, poetry, and distinctive gardens. it is the birthplace of sushi, which now is a famous dish all over the world.

At the top you see that living a physical lifestyle is important as well as drinking water and tea. Tea is included because their Japanese green tea has so man health benefits.
Grains are the base of their diet because most of their dishes are grain based dishes with rice and noodles. 5-7 servings per day. The next important is vegetables and they suggest 5-6 servings each day. Then fish and meat dishes they mostly eat fish and eggs compared to any other meat. they recommend 3-5 servings a day. Finally they have Milk and Fruits both being at 2 servings per day. i find it interesting how little fruits they eat. |
Yakisoba Chicken
Ingredients:
-1/2 tsp sesame oil -1 TBS canola oil -1 TBS Chili paste/sauce -2 cloves chopped garlic -1/4 cup soy sauce -1 chopped onion -1/2 chopped cabbage -2 chopped carrots -8 oz soba noodles cooked and drained |
Instructions:
1. In large skillet combine sesame oil, canola oil and chili paste. 2. stir fry 30 seconds. 3. Add garlic and stir fry additional 30 seconds 4. Add cooked chicken and 1/2 the soy sauce 5. remove and set aside 6. In emptied pan combine the onion, cabbage and carrots. 7. stir fry until cabbage begins to wilt - about 2 to 3 min. 8. stir in remaining soy sauce and the cooked noodles. 9. Add the chicken mix to blend. 10. serve and enjoy! |
